Thank you! | Ringing in 2016

I can never express how much I appreciate and come to love the faces I get to capture through my lens.  2015 has been a year of adventure for my family, but also of unbelievable blessing, and much of that due to the ones who have trusted me to capture their sweet memories and moments.  This is a little glimpse of all I got to witness this year.  I think I got a sampling of everyone, but if I missed someone, know it was accidental oversight.  My heart is filled with gratitude for each encounter.  I look forward to seeing many of you again in 2016.  Big things are coming for First Moments Photography in the next year.  You're not gonna want to miss it!

Shhh! I know a Secret! | Georgia Baby Photographer

One of the privileges I love about being a photographer is getting to be in on and keep some fun secrets!  I've even been on the other end of being the one with the secret.  Surprise proposals, baby announcements, births - they all make for fun events with that anticipation attached to it.  Just a couple weeks ago I had the honor of capturing an announcement for friends.  She has (finally!) made the announcement herself, so now it's my turn!

Congratulations Kevin and Whitney!!

This baby has been prayed for, longed for, and hoped for for a long time by it's Momma and Daddy and the people who love them.  It has been an honor to get to watch God work in the lives of these two, and we wait with excitement for the arrival of this little one!

Baby Camden

I think I say it every time, but it is a very distinct privilege for me to be invited to photograph a birth, and it is one of my favorite projects to work on.  I was there to witness Camden's big sister enter this world about 3 years ago.  This sweet family has since moved south a little, but I was absolutely excited to get to continue our tradition with the birth of their first son.

The families that I spend this time with become dear to my heart.  I feel like they are "mine."  When they become repeat clients, it only solidifies that feeling.  It is interesting too, the level of comfort that comes with the 2nd birth.  There is more interaction, more laughter, more real, which a documenting photographer loves.  Whitney is one of those get-it-done-mommas.  Once things get moving, be ready, because she's not going to waste any time!  Birth is so different for every momma, and it's a blessing when they go smoothly.

Without anymore delay, it's my honor to introduce Baby Camden's birthday:

Baby Brothers are Best! | Georgia Birth Photographer

I've got some blogging to do!  First order of business is starting with now!  This week, I had the wonderful privilege of a repeat birth client.  Mr. and Mrs. P moved to south Georgia after I photographed their baby girl for a year, and now 2 years from that, we got to reconnect over the birth of their son.  I was so excited to get the call that it was go time!  There is nothing like it!  Baby brother looked so much like big sister that I had to come right home to compare.  Can you tell these babies are family?! Welcome Baby Camden!

Sister is above (2012), Brother below (2015)

Oh, how I love this work! I got home from Uganda on Tuesday and got the call Thursday to capture Miss Ashley Victoria's arrival. What a sweet family to work with! I am honored to have been a part. The brothers of our families have played baseball together and even though the dads are rivals (heehee-FedEx and UPS) we've enjoyed knowing this family!

Here is Miss Willis Cait's debut.  I have loved meeting and spending time with this sweet, young family.  I have newborns coming soon, but here is her birth video.  Thank you Whitney and Chris for sharing your day with me!

Master Severin

I can't believe how long it has been since I've posted. I have kept a little more current on Facebook, so don't forget to check out First Moments Birth Photography there! I'll try to do some catchup over the next little bit.

June 3, I got to help welcome Master Severin into the world! He made Carrie Ann (scroll all the way back to the beginning of First Moments) a big sister and was number 8 addition to this beautiful family. He evened the score with 4 girls and 4 boys! This birth was an amazing experience as it was at home (the momma's, not mine!) and in the water. I am so grateful to be with families like this one for such special events.

 Welcome Sevi!

Before and After...

Just got a couple of sneaks for the Mr. & Mrs. L. I will say that I am having a really hard time narrowing down this time! A week and a couple days ago, I was allowed to capture the birth of Master Nicholas. It was a beautiful day that played out beautifully. This little boy greeted us at 6:27 with bright eyes and a hearty appetite! Welcome Nicholas Vincent!

Miss Frackelton

I was honored to be a part of Miss Frackelton's birth the day before Valentine's Day. I spent some time with Mom and Dad and big sis that morning at home, and after mom had some rest time, joined them at the hospital around 4:30 p.m. Momma Frackelton did an awesome job sticking with her birth plan and doing what was best for her and baby girl Frackelton. I am so awed at these strong mommas and witnessing birth from a whole new perspective. I tear or cry everytime a new baby cries, and marvel at how complete and perfect they are. Thank you Frackelton's for sharing this day with me!

Miss Summers

What an exciting event! I had waited on pins and needles - like a nervous auntie or godmother - to get the call that it was go time. Miss Summers mom was staying at home as long as possible with her husband and other 6 children before coming to the hospital to meet this new baby girl - who was the tie breaker by the way. Watching this lady go through this amazing part of life was such a blessing. She got to the hospital at 10 til 8, and Miss Summers made her arrival at 8:09 p.m. 20 minute job. Awesome. She was amazing and I loved being a part!
